What It Brings to the Table

That voltage choice is smart—it keeps current lower on the line side, so you can use smaller conductors and worry less about voltage drop over distance. And the oval shape? Totally practical. Inside, you’ve got a carbon fiber halogen element, sealed in a quartz envelope. Why? Because it handles wild temperature swings without burning out quickly. The halogen cycle keeps the element stable even at high filament temps, so output stays consistent over the life of the tube. The quartz body doesn’t back down either. It resists chemicals and keeps its dielectric strength when things get scorching. For installation, we went with the R7s connector. It’s a common, tough, two-pin ceramic base that locks in place and stays solid even at high temperatures.
