We built this infrared carbon tube to be a straight-up, drop-in heat source for industrial machines—the kind that need a heat source that wakes up fast and fits into tight spaces. It’s a shortwave halogen lamp, designed to pack a ton of power into a small body.
The Details, Without the Fluff
The tube measures 300mm long and 10mm across. That gives you a small thermal footprint, so it slips right into crowded heating blocks and snug reflector cavities. It runs at 2500W and 400V. Going high-voltage means the current stays lower on the line. That cuts down on voltage drop, so you can run longer cables without having to oversize the wires.
What’s Inside, and Why It Matters
Inside, you’ve got a carbon filament bathed in a halogen atmosphere. The carbon delivers a broad infrared spectrum, and the halogen cycle keeps the inner wall clean by pulling tungsten back into circulation. So the output stays steady over time. The quartz envelope has a special coating to spread heat evenly and stand up to thermal shock.
Easy Fit, No Hassle
The connector is R7s—double-ended pins that lock into standard ceramic holders. It’s a true drop-in replacement for many OEM machines. Wire it up, set the clamp, and you’re good to go.
Where It Shines
This tube is for the moments you need heat, fast, and right where you need it: plastic welding, PET blowing, coating drying, thermoforming. With 2500W packed into 300mm, you get serious heat density. That means you hit target temperatures quickly and keep cycle times tight.
A Reality Check
Here’s the trade-off: that much power density pushes heat back into the fixture. Make sure your holder, reflector, and machine cooling are up to the job. If they aren’t, you’ll shorten the life of the components.
