We built these lamps for one reason: to get industrial drying and curing done faster. Most people are used to standard quartz heaters, but these are a different beast. Instead of just getting hot on the surface, they push out high-intensity, long-wave infrared energy. It’s a different kind of heat.
The power side of things
We went with 1000W at 220V because it just works with most standard industrial setups. You don’t have to mess around with transformers or extra gear. The best part? They heat up almost instantly. No waiting around for the machine to “warm up.” If you pair these with a PID controller, you can keep your temperatures exactly where they need to be. It’s precise.
Why carbon fiber?
Inside the lamp, we use a carbon fiber weave. If your machinery vibrates—which, let’s be honest, most industrial gear does—a tungsten filament would probably just snap. Carbon fiber doesn’t care. It handles the shaking without breaking a sweat. We wrap that weave in high-purity quartz to keep everything from oxidizing. Because of how this is designed, the heat actually sinks deeper into plastics and coatings. It doesn’t just singe the top; it gets into the material.
Getting them set up
If you’ve got old halogen tubes, you can usually just swap these right in. They fit the same sockets, so the install is quick. But here is the thing you need to watch out for: the thermal profile is different. They might feel cooler to the touch on the outside, but they’re shoving way more heat into your workpiece. A couple of pro tips to keep them from breaking: Check your reflectors. If they’re dirty or pitted, you’re basically throwing away a huge chunk of that 1000W output. And for the love of everything,**keep the quartz clean.**If you touch the glass with your bare hands, the oil from your fingerprints creates hot spots. Once you turn it on, those spots can cause the glass to crack. Use a clean cloth, and you’ll be fine.
