
Let’s talk about the 1000W Quartz Carbon Heating Lamp
If you’re dealing with a process that needs heat—and needs it now—you know the struggle. Waiting for elements to warm up is a killer for productivity. That’s why we built these 1000W quartz carbon lamps. They aren’t your typical heating coils. We used a carbon filament tucked inside high-purity quartz glass to blast out short-wave infrared radiation. It’s fast. Really fast. The nitty-gritty on power At 1000W, you’re getting a serious amount of heat packed into the length of the tube. We made sure these work with standard industrial voltages, so you can just plug them into your existing panels. No need to waste money on custom transformers. But here’s a tip: check your wiring. Since these draw a lot of current, you’ll want a gauge that can handle it. If your wiring is too thin, you’ll get voltage drops, and that means some parts of the tube will be colder than others. Not ideal. What’s actually inside? The secret is the carbon filament. It can take a beating and handle much higher temperatures than those old nickel-chromium wires before it starts to give out. Then we wrap that in quartz glass, which lets the infrared energy fly right through without getting trapped. If you’re already using R7s or SK15 connectors, you’re in luck. These just slide right in. Just make sure those sockets are tight. A loose connection is a recipe for arcing, and that’s the fastest way to fry the ends of your tube. Putting them to work You’ll see these doing the heavy lifting in PET blowing machines, curing ovens, and drying tunnels. Because the heat penetrates the surface of the material so quickly, your cycle times drop. You get more done in less time. Just a heads-up, though. Because they’re so powerful, that glass gets hot—fast. If your shop is dusty, that grime will bake onto the glass. That creates “hot spots,” and eventually, the thermal stress will crack the tube. Keep them clean. Also, give them some breathing room in your heating bank so you don’t accidentally cook your machine frame.
