Introduction
We built this U-shape infrared heat lamp around a carbon fiber heating element, rated at 300W. The whole idea? Keep it simple: give you a heat source that’s focused, responds instantly, fits into tight corners, and wires up cleanly inside industrial gear.
What makes it tick
That 300W rating wasn’t picked by accident. It’s about packing serious heat into a small footprint without pushing your panel beyond its limits. The U-shape does something clever, too: it shrinks the overall size while keeping the emitting length where you need it. So you can slip it into a cramped spot and still get direct, line-of-sight heat on the target. And we went with a clear quartz envelope because it lets infrared energy pass through with almost no filtering—just steady, predictable output across the spectrum.
The materials behind the performance
Carbon fiber elements bring a couple of wins you actually feel on the job. They give you a stable resistance path and heat up fast—much faster than old-school wire coils. You get a quick ramp-up and output that stays consistent. And when your process keeps cycling between hot and cool, the element holds up better, without getting brittle as quickly as some ceramic options. The clear quartz tube plays its part, too. It stays transparent even at high temperatures, so the infrared transmission stays steady.
The base that makes it drop-in
We chose an R7s base because it just works. It gives you a secure, two-end connection—mechanical and electrical—that matches common industrial sockets. So when it’s time to replace a lamp, it’s a straightforward swap, not a redesign.
Where it shines
This setup is built for spot heating and process heating where space is tight and timing matters. Think curing lines, coating stations, and heating fixtures on packaging lines. The 300W power density puts the heat exactly where you need it. And the U-shape lets you route the lamp around components, instead of having to rework the whole assembly. One thing to keep in mind: packing 300W into a compact envelope means the surrounding parts and the fixture will feel the local temperature rise. So plan your spacing and cooling up front.
