Power, Voltage, and Geometry—Why It Matters
Here’s the thing about the specs: they’re chosen for real-world performance. Most versions run at 400V and deliver 2000–2500W of power. That gives you serious wattage without pulling so much current that your wiring and contacts get stressed. The 300mm tube length? That’s intentional. It concentrates all that heat into a compact footprint, so your heater can be short and still hit target temperatures fast. But with high heat density comes a trade-off. The lamp warms up quicker, sure, but the surrounding parts—reflectors, sockets, nearby wiring—take on more heat. So you’ll want to plan your cooling and shielding accordingly.
The Design: Gold Coating, Filament, and the R7s Base
That half-gold coating isn’t just for looks. It does a smart trick: it reflects visible light back onto the filament while letting infrared energy pass through the quartz. That keeps the filament hotter for the same power input, which stabilizes output and helps the lamp run reliably longer. Inside, we use a carbon fiber filament. It’s tough, lightweight, and handles repeated heating and cooling cycles without getting brittle. And the halogen gas fill keeps the envelope from blackening by redepositing evaporated material—so light output stays consistent over the lamp’s life. Then there’s the R7s connector. It’s a standard, high-temperature, two-pin base that installs quickly and holds a solid connection even when things vibrate. It’s a drop-in fit for many industrial heaters, so swapping a lamp on the shop floor is straightforward. No redesign needed.
Where It Shines—And What You Get
This lamp shines when you need fast, localized infrared heating—plastic welding, coating curing, industrial drying. Its shortwave response means you can change temperatures quickly, which gives you better control over tight production cycles. You end up with a compact heat source that’s easy to wire up, holds steady output, and handles repeated on/off cycles without drama. Just remember: it does pack heat, so size your cooling and mounting with that in mind. Do that, and you’ll have dependable heat exactly where you need it.
