But we went with a carbon fiber filament instead. Why? Because it heats up way faster. Plus, it puts out a specific kind of infrared heat that actually sinks into your materials rather than just sitting on the surface. The power side of things At 230V and 1500W, these fit right into standard industrial grids. We focused on power density here. By packing 1500W into a compact tube, you get a high-intensity heat zone that hits its target temperature almost instantly. It’s a huge win for your workflow. No more standing around waiting for your machinery to warm up. You just flip the switch and get to work. What’s under the hood? We wrapped that carbon fiber core in high-purity quartz. We chose quartz because it doesn’t freak out when the temperature spikes, and it lets the infrared rays pass through without soaking up the heat itself. We also spent a lot of time on the filament weave. We wanted to make sure the element doesn’t sag when it gets screaming hot. That keeps the heat steady and even from one end of the tube to the other. Getting them installed Putting these into your equipment is pretty simple. They usually slide right into most short-wave IR systems without any fuss. Just a heads-up: double-check your wiring. Make sure your connectors can handle a 1500W load. If they can’t, you’re looking at burnt-out terminals, and nobody wants that. One thing to keep in mind, though. Because these pack so much heat into a small space, things can get too hot if your airflow is off or if the lamp is too close to your workpiece. Make sure your housing and cooling fans are up to the task. If the ends of the lamp can’t breathe, they won’t last nearly as long. Keep them cool, and they’ll keep working.
