
Getting that perfect crust with Carbon Fiber Infrared

Fast heat, smaller footprint The heat hits the crust almost instantly. It’s fast. Really fast. Because the ramp-up time is so quick, you don’t need a massive heating tunnel taking up half your floor space. Plus, since these lamps heat up and cool down in a blink, you can use PID controllers to flick them on and off. It’s the best way to keep your temperatures exactly where they need to be. What’s under the hood? Inside the lamp, there’s a carbon fiber weave tucked into a high-purity quartz tube. We chose this setup so the filament doesn’t sag when things get hot. The quartz is basically “invisible” to the heat, letting the infrared rays pass right through. If you touch the outside of the lamp, it feels cooler than a halogen one. But don’t let that fool you—the heat hitting the bread at the focal point is incredibly intense. A few things to watch out for If you’re looking to swap out your old infrared tubes, these are designed to drop right in. They work with most industrial power supplies. But here is the catch:**you have to get your voltage exactly right.**If you over-volt these, you’ll fry the carbon filament in a matter of hours. And one last tip? Pay attention to your reflectors. Because the heat is so concentrated, a slight misalignment can create “hot spots.” You don’t want a few charred patches on your bread; you want a smooth, even brown across the whole batch. Get those reflectors dialed in, and you’re good to go.
